here is more isaiah reading. he's reading one of his favorite new books, "little critter sleeps over". you will notice that he is reading with really good fluency and expression now! you can also notice how much he loves commenting on what is going on in the pictures.

Ping Tom Park

One of our favorite city parks is called ping tom park-- it is a couple of blocks away near Chinatown. It is right by the river and has a great view of the city, not to mention a pretty awesome playground. Today was a gorgeous day in Chicago so we spent some time at the park!

Big update

its been very very busy in the teamshin household!

isaiah turned 3! he went to his 3 year old pediatrician's appt and turns out he's in the 75th percentile for height.

we let him pick his birthday dinner and he chose hot dogs (without the bun), chips and guacamole, fries, and a fruit tart cake.

AND--- he wanted to eat with his sunglasses on.

and then he had two cupcake parties! he had a small party at home with some of his friends and a cupcake party at school where they gave him a huge birthday hat!

and then... it was HALLOWEEN!

batman and robin were a hit in the neighborhood! isaiah was great at ringing doorbells and saying "trick-or-treat!"

More Isaiah

I should post some videos of Christina soon--- she just won't sit long enough for me to catch her doing anything! But hopefully I can get video of her talking soon. She can say umma, appah, amen, yes, and uh-oh.

Isaiah is taking T-ball class once a week. He really likes his coaches and the other kids in class!

isaiah is such a good reader now--- he is completely obsessed. here are two videos (one book split into two clips) of isaiah reading. can you believe he's not even three yet?

Zoo

what beautiful weather we're having this week! today was in the 80s so teamshin took to the zoo! (appah shin is working evenings this week, if you were wondering!)

the first thing we did was to go to the little kids farm that they have there.

isaiah had a lot of fun feeding the cows--- he ended up doing it twice!

and then he waited in a long line to climb up and sit in a real tractor.

after looking at the zoo animals and eating lunch isaiah got to ride his favorite train ride

christina was just happy eating her snacks!

and before we left we got to ride on the carousel!

Museums

we live really close to most of the museums in chicago so we've been trying to take advantage of them lately. this past week so far we have been to the aquarium, field museum of natural history, and the childrens museum. hopefully this weekend we will make it to the zoo too! (isaiah read the word zoo as "z hundred" the other day, haha)

after looking at some of the animals at the field museum, we took the water taxi to navy pier to go to the children's museum.

they had a water world at the children's museum that both kids liked so much. christina got all wet, even under her rain coat...

so they stuck her clothes in the dryer and she spent the rest of the day in this museum t-shirt.
