Birthday fun!

Isaiah's 4th Birthday Party Bash!

Isaiah LOVES cooking these days--- so we decided to let him have a cooking birthday party!  We went to a place called A Kid's Table for his party.

Here are the workers preparing the food for the adults!  yum yum...

Here is a look at the venue

Before the party the kids got to play in the play-kitchen.  Christina is putting mustard on her pizza.

At the party they started by decorating their own paper hats.

Then, they each made their own individual cakes from scratch!  (there is a video of isaiah mixing his batter)

Here they are washing their mixing bowls...

The next step was to roll out their pizza dough for their pizzas.  They rolled their dough and pinched their crusts.

when they were waiting for their crusts to bake they made fruit kabobs for a snack!  (no pictures of this step here)

then they got to put sauce on their pizzas and cover it with cheese and veggie toppings

while they waited for their pizzas to bake they made freshly squeezed lemonade~  Then they got to eat it all together!!

after pizza time their cakes were ready to frost and cover with strawberries!  the kiddos got to choose between chocolate and vanilla frosting

for party favors umma made each kid their own personalized aprons!

here is a cute video of isaiah blowing out his candle.  his friend, ambrose, got excited and started singing a little early :)  christina was too busy with eating her frosting with the wrong end of the pastry knife to notice that we were singing...

we can't believe our little boy is 4!  this is what he often find him doing in his room... curled up in bed with a book!

lastly, here are two pictures of umma and isaiah at school.

this first picture is at his halloween party

this next picture is at a class field trip to the chicago symphony orchestra!  (we love city life!)

Birthday and Halloween fun

welcome to november!
it was a very busy end of the month for teamshin.

first we celebrated isaiah and abigail's birthday a little early in michigan.  abigail's grandmother was nice enough to host a party for the kids at her house--- and she got both the kids their own cake, as well as a little cake for christina too!
celebrating in michigan
Umma got to come into Isaiah's classroom to read a story to his class.  We also dedicated this "Frog and Toad" book to his class library in celebration of his birthday.
at isaiah's school
Then it was finally Isaiah's birthday morning!  we decorated the house and let him pick his breakfast--- he chose oatmeal with cooked apples.
breakfast time for the 4-year old!
Isaiah's birthday party isn't until this weekend (he is having a fun cooking birthday party!) so we took him to his favorite place--- the Children's Museum!

posing for pictures at the museum

The museum is in navy pier where they also have a fun train ride.
riding the train
HALLOWEEN!

Here are our cutie pies!  We tried to convince Isaiah to dress as Luigi but he didn't love that plan.
Mario and a Pirate

Since Isaiah wasn't going to go as Luigi, umma had to go as Wario, Mario's nemesis!

Umma had a chance to help out in Isaiah's class Halloween party.
ISAIAH UPDATE

Isaiah had his 4 year old check up!  He weighed in at 40.6lbs and measured in at 42.5 inches!  He is between 90-95% in height and 75-90% in weight!  What a big boy and big eater.

Isaiah is also reading amazingly well.  In fact when umma went to read a story to his class one of his classmates asked, "Isaiah's mom, can Isaiah read?".  Isaiah is currently reading at about a beginning to middle 2nd grade level!  We will try to post a recent video of reading soon.

Isaiah is also starting to do some math.  Here are some very very introductory addition lessons.

Here we are practicing some mental math

Update!

Welcome to October, or as Isaiah likes to call it, "my birthday month!"
I forgot to mention a while ago that Christina is now in Isaiah's old toddler bed (and Isaiah moved to a big boy twin with no railing).  She loves getting tucked in at night.

appah tucking her in.

playing around together in christina's bed

Christina and umma take music class together!

Christina loves to sing!  Here is a clip of her singing twinkle twinkle--- even though she keeps getting distracted by herself on the camera and her toys.  something is wrong with the sound for the first 5-10 seconds,  just wait and the sound comes back on.

afterwards we stopped by the petting zoo again

isaiah feeding the animals
christina was too scared to feed the animals but at least was brave enough to pet this sheep

he always thought the animals licking his hand tickled

First day of pre-k!

Today was Isaiah's first day of preschool!  He goes to a Catholic school very close to us so we get to walk to school in the mornings.  He also wears a uniform everyday.

2 years old!

can you believe our little girl turned two last sunday?!  what a sweet, silly girl she is!

this is her favorite facial expression--- (we call is the skateboard face because her daniel sahmchon used to make the same kind of face when he was little and we thought it his mouth was shaped like a skateboard)

christina loves sunglasses... even if they are too big for her!
