apple picking
team shin went out apple picking today! both of the kiddos had a great time and loved eating apples straight from the tree.

there was also a petting zoo there where isaiah got to feed a lot of different animals. he loved it!
we are looking forward to returning next year :)

beach week!
We spent the last week up in New Buffalo, MI at a house by the beach (off of lake michigan).
Here are some pictures of our vacation!
Isaiah and Christina eating breakfast. Isaiah is happy to start the day and Christina has her mouth full.
Walking around the neighborhood. Isaiah likes to hold Christina's hand.
Walking down to the beach. Incredible to think that Lake Michigan is just a lake!
Isaiah finally learned to like the sand!
Christina didn't like the sand that much.
But sometimes she didn't mind as much.
Abigail came to play with us for half of the week! Here is Isaiah and Abigail taking a stroll on the beach. I wasn't there so I'm not quite sure what happened to Isaiah's shirt, haha.
Isaiah and Abby spent most of their evenings like this:
We figured out it was quite impossible to take pictures of all three kids sitting together.
Little Christina spent a lot of time going up and down the stairs. It was very difficult not having child-proof gates!
The weather was hot except the last day so we took the kiddos to a nearby steam train museum where we got to ride on a steam train (which of course Isaiah called Gordon). There was also a lot to look at while walking around.
We got to see some amazing sunsets. Here is one of my favorite pictures of Isaiah and Appah enjoying the sunset.

video fixed
i didn't realize until last night that the video of isaiah spelling words wasn't working! i finally fixed it. enjoy :)

more spelling
Isaiah has an amazing memory. He has learned how to spell most of his sight words by himself! Here is a video of Isaiah spelling some words from memory--- the only word he has a hard time with is the word "here". Not bad for a two year old!

Christina's Dol
This weekend we celebrated Christina's Dol (traditional korean first birthday!).
We will hopefully have more pictures to share in the next coming days but here is a quick video of Christina during her doljabi. (and yes, isaiah is also wearing his too-small-for-him hanbok--- he really wanted to wear it!)
as you can see she thought about picking up the money but ended up with the pencil, just like her brother!

reading
isaiah is learning his sight words and he is doing a really good job! here he is reading one of his sight words books. (he has only read this one a couple of times before!)
