Feb update

i know i know--- its march and i'm doing a feb update!! its been busy in the teamshin fort.

christina has grown so much this past month. she talks much more and now likes to do things by herself---- including walking down the stairs. she also likes to pretend play. here she is wearing/playing with my scarf

isaiah's reading and writing are coming along very well. its incredible how smart he is! we do learning time everyday and its one of his favorite times in the day--- he even asks for it on weekends.

here are some of the things that we are working on:

writing his name. he can already spell it too!

phonics words. we usually go over a long vowel pattern of some sort. here is his wall of words.

he also has a wall of sight words which aren't pictured. he knows about 140 so far!

this is a clip of isaiah reading his new favorite book series-- Frog and Toad. a funny story from this clip: isaiah used to think that the word 'people' meant adults. it makes sense when you think about it. if we see a bunch of kids we say "look at all those kids!" but if we see a crowd of mainly adults we say "look at all the people". so when he calls himself a people that's what hes saying.


isaiah is obsessed with month of the year and birthdays. he has learned all of the family birthdays! (when we get to november he is asking for us to list our favorite thanksgiving food but i skipped his request)


there were a couple of gorgeous days this week and the kids loved going to the park, even though it was super windy! christina mastered the 'shake-shake bridge' and loved it!



christina has also learned how to go up and down the slide by herself! what a big girl!
